This is a bit overwhelming but I’m going to try and tell you about myself and why it is that I want to start a blog and what I hope to gain from my blog. I will also try and introduce myself in such a way that you know where I’m coming from and why I have the opinions and interests that I do. I realize that part of doing this is exposing my self to the world so if you have any questions about me please let me know and I will attempt to answer them.
First, I must admit that I have an insatiable desire for knowledge and for intelligent debate. Because of the careers that I have chosen in my life I find it difficult to find people that share my passions and so I’m going to attempt to use the internet to attract people that want to share ideas and discussions about a wide variety of topics. I admit that I’m very new to blogging and that in the beginning my blog may appear to be random and without guidance. Over time I will decide what topics to stick with and what topics to avoid but in the beginning I will only limit myself by avoiding the topic of religion.
Now it’s time for the basics. I’m a 34 year old man that lives on the space coast of Florida, I’m not married, and I do not have kids. Since I’m new to this world I’m not real sure how much personal information I want to share so we will stick with that and as I get more comfortable I will decide whether or not to add more information. I work full time in the retail industry as well as part time in the travel industry. Under the links section of my blog you will find my travel website if you are interested in booking any travel. I’m college educated but I have never used my degree nor do I ever plan too. I have had a very interesting life and I hope to share some of that with everyone here.
I’m sure that you are wondering where the name Idealcrap comes from. I spent ten years in the casino business and started out as a craps dealer in St. Louis, Missouri. For some reason this seems to be a topic that fascinates many people and I will write a separate blog entry telling you all about my experiences in the casino business. It was a business that allowed me to live the life style that I wanted when I was younger but I eventually decided that I wanted more out of my life and made the choice to open my own business.
Two years ago I took the plunge and bought and opened a Planet Beach Contempo Spa. My experience as a small business owner is something else that I will write about in a future post but needless to say it did not end well. I made a horrible choice on the location of my spa and wound up having to close my spa, file for bankruptcy and will be losing my house later this summer. A fun time was had by all.
I was going to include my hopes and goals for this blog but this post has already gotten very long so I will end here and write another post for that topic. If you made it all the way through this post I hope you will come back and read more as I add pages. It is my intent to add at least one page a day until I have plenty of content and then we will see what happens.
Thank you for your time.

Hi Matt,
I am not sure if you remember me but I think we opened Players Island Casino together. Right now I am a Pit Manager at Caesars Indiana (near Louisville, Ky.). I applied and was hired at Hollywood as a full time Suit. My girl friend was also hired as a Pit Manager. She was called on 4-29 to accept the job over the phone. She asked about me and they said that I was hired as well and I should be getting a letter by mail no later than May 3rd. Also over the phone they discussed money and shift and days off. If you would like to contact me, please do so.

Patrick, I’m pretty sure I remember you. You dealt dice on swing shift with me and we use to hang out at Kendra’s after work. Am I right? I’m going to email you some questions about the Hard Rock both for me personally and for the blog. It will be there in a few minutes.

Brian, I’m being told that the Hard Rock has the intention of having Tampa open by New Year’s. They started hiring for Hollywood about 3 months out so I would expect them to start their hiring around September. I will keep everyone up to date here.
Thanks.

Hello,
You said you worked in Treasure Island, so did I. Hard Rock called me last week, haven’t heard from them since. Did you work on Suncruz? Or the other side? Let me know.

Someone, do you mean work in Treasure Island or work at Treasure Island. I have worked at both but when I worked in Maderia Beach I didn’t work for SunCruz. I worked for SunCruz in New Port Richey and Cape Canaveral. They are going to check in with people about every 6 weeks just to update information. Don’t worry that you haven’t heard from them. They aren’t going to start hiring until Sept.

Well Matt, I must say that I also have a love for debate. I look forward to arguing with you over many topics in the future. But I must warn you: I totally earned an “A” in debate in college. You’ve had your fair warning.
